Does anybody know the SAP-Major?
Of interest is the mixture of dress of the SAP men parading for President Dupont. One section is in Rhodesian camo, but with puttees, which the Rhodesians never wore. The other section is in the normal SAP uniform, including one in formal dress. The officer with the Rhodesian president, Mr Dupont is also SAP, but we cannot see the rank on his slip-ons. Date early 1970s. Place unknown, but it is a main base in the operational area.
Does anybody know the SAP-officer in Rhodesian camouflage dress?
My 1e diensbeurt in Rhodesie was van Julie-November 1970 en was ons reeds uitgerus met SAP kamoefleer-uniform. So dalk was hierdie foto gedurende 1969 geneem, toe lede op kort kennisgewing opgeroep was.
My vermoede is dat die lid in winter uniform, Konstabel Nicky Botha, was. Hy was later te Wonderboompoort gestasioneer.
