Haven’t any of them. First time n noticed it bur would love to read it.
I have not yet had an opportunity to acquire and read the book
However
I dispute the claim of .. “successful”
The most important period for South Africa was at the end of the cold war precisely when negotiations with the SACP / ANC were at a critical point / juncture
After a careful reading of “Peoples War” author Dr Anthea Jeffery one is led to the conclusion that the – Intelligentsia of the SACP / ANC and their Soviet handlers were far ahead of the National party , the NIS ( Neil Barnard ) , and all it’s Intelligence and defence departments during the negotiation process.
Perhaps the ANC had a number of “useful-idiots” within the NP and elsewhere ?
Does the book mention these ” useful-idiots” that aided and abetted it’s plans
Does this book discuss the ANC ” Green-Paper” the lessons learned from their visit to Vietnam and indoctrination to .. ” Peoples War” ?
Does it explain why we have now landed up ( after the negotiation process ) with an entrenched SACP / ANC with their NDR still holding on to the levers of power in SA
Clearly with such an outcome how is it possible to talk about ANY type / form of “success”
Thank you for your comment, Chris. Perhaps acquire the book (it is more than 600 pages) and then comment about the Daisy Spy Ring and the successful infiltration of priority intelligence targets by the SAP, BfSS, DNS, NIS and SADF in the 1970s’ and 1980s’.
A successful intelligence operation remains secret long after its conclusion (in this case more than forty years), manages to either infiltrate or penetrate a priority intelligence target, and gathers information useful for threat analysis in terms of intelligence requirements set by a government and its political leadership. The Daisy Spy Ring achieved and surpassed exactly this operational objective, and the identity of the majority of its members has never been revealed. Best wishes – Henning van Aswegen (author).
